Basement Films are proud to announce that our film Britain’s Atomic Bomb Scandal will be showing this Sunday 15th September on Channel 4 and streaming online at channel4.com. It’s the story of Britains forgotten Nuclear Test Veterans, the young men sent to Australia and the South Pacific to witness the UK’s Nuclear testing programme in the 50’s and 60’s. Ever since they have been fighting the UK Government and MOD for recognition of their service and for compensation for the illnesses and genetic effects the radiation they were exposed to have caused. Britain is the only country to have carried out atmospheric testing of Nuclear bombs and not offer compensation to it’s Nuclear Veterans.
